Windows XP Fixes to Help You Out
Windows By Default During "Upgrades" Quit Using Fax and Picture Viewer: Here's the fix.
By default XP uses Windows Picture and Fax Viewer to preview pictures. It takes a while to get used to it; however, once you do, it's hard to go back. Several programs when installed try to take over the role of picture preview. This is very difficult to reverse. Here's how you do it quickly.
1. Click Start
2. Click Run
3. In the textbox type: regsvr32 shimgvw.dll
4. Click OK
You may or may not have to reboot to see your changes. Windows Vista cannot use the Fax and Picture Viewer, so you're stuck with the Window Photo Viewer by default for Vista.

If you've ever seen an image such as this -- Don't click on it. Many of these will infect your pc temporarily, and you cannot get out that webpage without closing your brower down. Try to hit the Back Button, only causes more problems. So just close your web browser and run PC Tools or other Utilities, including Glary Utilities to clear it out. Remember: Nothing is free. Many times, you'll get a page to say your pc is infected (of course it is now), and you are invited to buy a software package to remove these infections. All I can say is DON'T.
